Regina Dorsch
Oct 30, 1946 — Jul 21, 2023
Salina
Loving mother and retired math teacher Victoria (Vickie) Dorsch's love of life didn't come to an end with her death. Victoria passed away on July 21st, 2023, after a short and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Vickie was born Victoria Regina Farrell on October 30, 1946, in Newark, New Jersey. She was the fourth child born to the union of Woodrow (Hap) and Victoria Farrell. She grew up surrounded by the love of her parents and that of her three siblings. She graduated from Matawan Regional High School and attended college at Trenton State University where she graduated with a degree in post-secondary education. During this time, she met and married Noble (Bob) Dorsch Jr. The married couple moved to St. Francis, Kansas, where Victoria worked as a high school math teach at McDonald High School from 1969 until it closed in 1975. Following that she taught for two more years at Cheylin High School. Vickie stepped away from teaching with the birth of her child, Kerry Marie, and did not return to the classroom until her youngest, Michael Allen, had finished high school. Vickie enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom with Kerry and Michael along with keeping the books for the family-owned Mill & Seed. She was an active troop leader with the Girl Scouts of America and was so proud to see Kerry through to the highest achievement with her earning her Gold Award. She enjoyed many swim-meets, volleyball matches and football games during her children's childhood. With her children raised she returned to the classroom where she taught for six years at the Beloit Girls Correctional Facility. In the fall of 2007, she moved to Salina where she continued to teach at Salina South High School until her retirement in 2013. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren as well as traveling with her family and playing cards with her girlfriends.
Victoria is survived by her siblings Elaine (Walt) Quillen, Colleen Walker and Bill (Ann) Farrell. She is also survived by her children Patricia (Roger) Neunkirk, Kerry (Arthur) Hammeke and Michael (Amber) Dorsch. In addition to those above she is also survived by her grandchildren Ari, Cassidy, Erich, Makenna, Madilyn and Mason as well as many nieces and nephews.
