Shawn Gabriel Wilkens, 37, passed away unexpectedly in Blue Springs, MO on Friday, April 21, 2023. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden death. Shawn was born May 18, 1985 in Atwood, KS.

Shawn attended High School in Cozad, NE. His passions were being with his children, riding his motorcycle, working on cycles and cars, going on bike rides with his brother, Chris, and friends, fishing, magnet fishing, 4 wheeling, spending time at the Wilkens Farm and the Ozarks.

Shawn is survived by his parents Daniel (Rhonda) Wilkens, Pamela (Gorden) MacPhail; four children, Cohnor Plunkett-Wilkens, Isabella Plunkett, Brielle Weinmaster and Shayla Thomas; brothers, Cory Wilkens and Chris Hurd; niece and nephew, Jatana Hurd, Jyden Wilkens; aunts and uncles, Ardene Wilkens, Anita Wilkens, Julia Wilkens, Diane (Jim) Moro, Brenda (Derald) Meineke, Sharon Mooseman, Deb (Duane) Erkman, Bruce (Debbie) Giebler and Denise (Jerry) Beard; numerous cousins and many more family and friends. Preceding him in death are his
grandparents, Ellsworth (Gus) and Regina Wilkens, Ray and Joan Giebler; uncle, Duane Wilkens; cousin, Dustin Meineke.

Rosary will be held on Friday, June 2, at 6 pm. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 3 at 10:30 am. Both services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bird City, KS. Graveside service and burial will follow Celebration of Life service, at the Bird City Cemetery.
