Obituary

Robert "Bobby" Lee Stewart, 92, died Saturday January 11, 2025 at his home in St. Francis.

He was born on January 21, 1932 in Tyler, TX to Dyas and Ola Jewell Stewart. He moved to Tribune in 1946 with his parents where he graduated from Greeley County high school. He joined the US Navy Reserves in 1951 and served until he was honorably discharged in 1958.

While working on a farm, he married Beverly Kay Bloesser on May 10, 1953 in Tribune. They  returned to Tyler, TX where he went to Tyler Jr college to study radio and television. He was employed at a local tv station, KLTV.  In 1962 they moved to Houston,TX where he worked at ABC Channel 13 TV Station until he retired in 1997.

He had two daughters, Nancy Jo born in Tyler, TX and Teri Rae, born in Houston, TX, from his first marriage. He later married Joyce Moreland on May 9, 1982, in Houston, TX. He gained a stepson, Eric Ritzie from that union. After retirement, they moved to Lake Somerville, TX, where they lived for 10 years until they relocated in Grand Island, NE in 2007. After, his wife, Joyce, passed away, he moved to St. Francis, KS to finish out his life.

He loved to fish, camp, and hunt. He would spend time in Galveston, Lake Livingston, Lake Somerville, the mountains in CO, fishing with his dad and brothers, nephews, daughters and son. He also enjoyed working outdoors and keeping his yard maintained.

He is survived by his ex-wife Beverly. His daughters, Nancy(Tom) Aschenbrenner and Teri Rae(Tim) Richard, daughter-in-law DeAnna Ritzie. His grandchildren and step grandchildren, Ryan(Sierra), Tanner(Alyssa), Trevor(Megan), Taryn(Freddy), Zachary(Jennifer), Brandon(Gabrielle). Great-grandchildren, Olivia, Evelyn, Giovanni, Lorenzo, Cruz, Ellie, Sterling, Silas, Isabella. Sister-in-laws Phyllis and Mary Mae and many nephews and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his wife Joyce, his parents, his two brothers Jim Tom and Benton (Benny), his step son, Eric.

Memorial services will be held Monday January 27, 2025 at 10:30 at the St. Francis Community Church in St. Francis, KS. Burial will be at a later date in Tribune, KS at the Greeley County Cemetery.
