Obituary

Richard (Dick) Lee Bursch - August 22-1933 - December 8, 2024.

Richard (Dick) Bursch passed away peacefully the morning of December 8, 2024 in St. Francis, Ks.

Richard (Dick) was born  8-22-1933 in Buffalo, KS. to Dan and Edna Bursch.

Richard married Delores (Dee) Bursch on August 31, 1951.  They were married for 69 years and had 2 children, Cloene (Bursch) Gray and Royce Bursch. They moved to Bird City, Kansas in 1957 to farm.  Delores (Dee) June Bursch - April 27, 1933 passed away September 21, 2020.

Richard farmed south of Bird City, Ks along with trucking and dispatching for the Coop out of Goodland, Ks until he retired in 2019.

Richard was on the Fair Board in Saint Francis, KS and the Fair Board President for 15 years.  This was his passion and he would probably still be on the Fair Board if he didn't have health issues that caused him to step down.  He also helped with the Cheyenne County Thresher Show in Bird City, KS, Gideons and was active in the Wesleyan Church in Bird City, KS where he was a Sunday School teacher for many years and served on the church board.

Richard's favorite things to do was feed his cows, pick corn, spoil his grandkids and later great grandkids.

Survivors include his daughter Cloene Gray, son Royce and wife Shana Bursch, grandson Andy and wife Charlotte Warren, grandson Clint and wife Kayla Bursch, granddaughter Jesse and husband Jayden Cahoj, great grandchildren Alvin and Henry Warren, Natalyn, Parker and Decklyn Bursch, Peyten, Jake and Adaline Cahoj, sisters Dorthy McCoy and Darlene Perez-Cotz, sister in laws Janet Moffett and Marge Frank, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Preceding Richard in death in his immediate family were his wife Delores Bursch, parents Dan and Edna Bursch, brothers Ray (Madge) Bursch, Roger (Bonnie) Bursch, Bill (Laverne) Bursch, Albert Bursch, Sister Madge (Duane) Morris, brother in laws Dwayne Frank and Keith Moffett, niece Cathy, nephews Teddy, Richard, Tony and daughter in law Natalie Bursch.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the Wesleyan Community Church in Bird City Kansas
