Philip Crawford was born on April 13, 1934 near Ansley, Nebraska.  He was the middle child of seven born to Lewis and Florence (Fox) Crawford.

He married Maxine Beechley on January 4, 1958 in Kirk, Colorado. They made their home in St. Francis, Kansas. To this union, they were blessed with four children: Delores, Larry, Virginia, and Norma Jean.

He was a member of the First Christian Church. He had a short time of service on the police force. For many years, he worked as a diesel mechanic with Yost Farm Supply and then as a small engine mechanic with Marrow's Garage. After retirement, he worked as a groundskeeper at the Riverside Golf Course. He enjoyed playing his guitar and traveling around sharing his talent of music and poetry writing with others.

He is survived by their son, Larry Crawford; their daughter Virginia McKeown and husband Dan; two granddaughters, Sarah Martin, and Kimberly Ryan and husband Michael; and six great-grandchildren, Randall, Aislee and Clade Martin, and Treiton, Brenton, and Grayson Ryan.

He was preceded in death by wife Maxine Crawford, his parents, four brothers, two sisters, daughter Delores Rabas and husband William, daughter Norma Jean, and great-granddaughter Quinlee Martin.

He passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 16. Graveside services will be held February 28 at 2pm CST (1pm MST) at Glendale Cemetery, Vernon, Colorado, with Rev. Larry Hobbs officiating. There will be a meet-and-greet with family at the funeral home from 12:30 - 1:15pm CST. Arrangements were made by Knodel Funeral Home, St. Francis.
