Marsha Cynthia Magley (Squires) passed from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 12, 2026 at the St. Francis Village care center.  Marsha was 79 years of age having been born January 10, 1947, in Denver, Colorado.  She was the second child of Marshall Cary Squires and Lena May Squires (Shoop).  They lived at 4410 Utica St., Denver, CO.

Her education was from Lousia May Alcott elementary, Shinner Jr. High and North Denver High School in 1965, all in Denver, CO.  These years were filled with choir contests, solo and ensemble contests and scholarship music camp (DU).

Marsha attended Adams State College, Alamosa, Co., on a music scholarship in 1965.  She carried a double major in Elementary education and Elementary music education and received her Bachelors degree in June 1970.  As a member of the College Concert Choir, she departed for a 26 concert European tour, which visited eight countries.  These included England, France, West Germany, Italy, Austra, Switzerland, Netherlands and Belgium.

In August 1970, Marsha became the Elementary Vocal teacher at the St. Francis Grade School.  She remained in that position through 1974 and also had several private piano students from 1970 – 1977.  Marsha and her students performed original songs at the Ron Evans Special Assembly.  She related that it was a pleasant remembrance and an exciting time for everyone in the county.

On September 3, 1973, she was united in marriage to Fred D. Magley II, a single parent with two children at home.  She completed that year of teaching and then moved to Fred's farm.  The children, Wayne and Marilyn, now have children and grandchildren of their own.

Marsha was very active and received many honors in Order of the Eastern Star, Rebekahs, and Odd Fellows and Daughters of the American Revolution – DAR.  Some of the activities since coming to Cheyenne County have included being the music director for "Theater '74", a St. Francis Music Club presentation of "Oklahoma"; secretary of the "Citizens Band Radio Club" and "Helping Hands Radio Club" in 1975.  Marsha was a life member "Historian" and director of publications of The Cheyenne County Historical Society.  In more recent years she was president of the Bird City Historical Association.  She loved genealogy and family history.  Books that she had edited, compiled and typed for publication were: "Dust on the Sunflowers" by Roy J. Weber; "Leavenworth and Pikes Peak Stageline", Commemorative volume 1984;  Bird City Historical volume 1, by Dorothy Mast and Marsha Magley;  and "Shades of the Past" in 1985.  She was co-promoter of "Project Mail Bag" re-run 1984. She took pleasure in manning the Highlands School House at the Thresher grounds during their yearly shows.  She had compiled a history of Cheyenne County Country schools and had assisted Fred in the marking of historical sites in the county with welded disc markers.

Marsha is survived by her sister, Shirley Watson, of St. Francis Village; brother, Marshall Squires II (Connie) of Goodland, Ks; son, Wayne F. Magley (Mary) of Monument, KS;  daughter, Marilyn Ellen Magley of St. Francis; sisters-in-law, Helene Landenberger of St. Francis and Sandy Magley of Bird City, KS.  She will be remembered fondly by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews neighbors and acquaintances.
