Janice Allyne
Krien
Jan 5, 1946 — Jul 14, 2021
St. Francis
Janice Allyne Krien, 75, passed away July 14, 2021 at Cheyenne County Hospital in St. Francis, KS. She was born January 5, 1946 to Paul V. and Roberta R. (Ostdiek) O'Leary in Benkelman, NE.
Janice spent most of her childhood in St. Francis where she graduated from high school in 1964. Over the years and through a good friendship with Ronnie Krien's sister, Lois; Janice and Ronnie fell in love. They were united in marriage on July 10th, 1965 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bird City, KS. Janice and Ronnie soon decided to add to their little family and had four children; two sons and two daughters.
Janice was filled with so much love, kindness, and a pinch of sass. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and didn't know a stranger. As a devout Catholic, she was highly involved in the church. Janice was a woman of many talents; her ability to cook being high on that list. Although she could cook just about anything, she was best known for her pies. Using her talents in the kitchen, she managed the Riverside and Sale Barn Restaurants in St. Francis.
Janice also served as the office manager for the family business. As a woman who cared deeply about her community, she helped run the Senior Center for many years. Bowling, playing cards, and keeping Ronnie in line were some of her favorite pastimes. Eventually she traded her bowling shoes for morning coffee with her friends at Majestic. Janice loved catching up with her family and friends any chance she got. She will be greatly missed by family, friends, and many more.
She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Krien of the home; a son, Wade Krien and Jeanine of St. Francis; two daughters, Jauna and husband, Jeff Lopp of Dodge City and Ronda and husband, Dominic Ryder of Eau Claire, WI; five grandchildren, Riley, Raegan, and Raemie Lopp and Nolan and Wyatt Ryder; one great-grandchild, Kashton; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both parents; one son, Michael; and two brothers, Jim O'Leary and Ronnie O'Leary.
