Gay Marcia Walz, 87, of St Francis, Kansas passed away on March 3rd, 2025. Often known for her infectious smile, truth telling ways and witty comments.

Gay was born August 9th, 1937 to Faye and Henry Wieck. Gay was one of 11 siblings who all loved to have a quick banter with one another. Born and raised in St. Francis, she met Lloyd Walz, and joined him in union on May 29th, 1953. In their marriage they welcomed three daughters, Sharla Gottschalk , Sharmis(Rod) Blake and Sheila Walz; 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Gay enjoyed spending her free time sewing her daughter's clothes, making her grandchildren's baptism outfits and crocheting her great grandchildren's baby blankets. It was family tradition to always meet up at Grandma Gays to celebrate her birthday and enjoy the county fair, and to get together for Christmas Eve service and appetizers at her house after. She was never shy to treat herself with a crossword puzzle, a Pepsi or a chocolate for her 'sick friend'.

Gay worked at many places growing up, but was most proud of becoming a CNA, where she spent most of her working years at the Village and hospital before retiring at 63. She brought joy to the residents by bringing her dachshund Studley up to visit.

Towards the end of her life Gay became a resident at the village where she truly enjoyed making new friends, playing the games offered and visiting with her loved ones.

Gay is proceeded in death by her husband Lloyd, parents Henry and Faye, sisters Joan, Joyce and Donna and brothers Melvin and Kenny. She leaves to mourn her daughters; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and siblings Lyle(Flo), Lee(Joyce), Shyrlee(Charles), Ardyth and Jody.
