DeEtta Faye Knorr was born on June 4, 1940 at the family farm northwest of Bird City. She passed on August 8, 2021, after enjoying every day of the Cheyenne County Fair and the day after what was her 61st wedding anniversary.

DeEtta was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bird City. She graduated from Bird City High School in 1958. She married Kenneth Knorr on August 7, 1960 at St. John's Lutheran Church. She and Kenneth welcomed daughters Kimlin Jo in 1962 and Karla Jean in 1964.

She worked at Cheyenne County Hospital, Hadley Hospital, and Goodland Regional Hospital. She drove the school bus for St. Francis and Goodland schools. She worked at the Dairy King for Roger and Dotty Lewis. DeEtta, along with Kenneth, owned Ken's Schwinn Cyclery in Goodland, Kansas for nine years, before returning to St. Francis to farm for both their parents. Her most prized job was being a grandma and great-grandma, showing the next generation how to live a life of faith in Jesus Christ.

DeEtta loved to be a social butterfly. She played bridge and pinochle with numerous clubs and friends. She played a mean game of rummy and other games with her extended family. Her passion for nursing led her to join the Hospital Guild. DeEtta was part of the Amusement Authority, Lutheran Women, Tri-State Women, coffee ladies, and she recently joined the Red Hatters. Early years found her doing crafts with her craft club. She and Kenneth enjoyed trips with Lazy K and later, after Kenneth's death, she traveled with her brother David.

DeEtta was preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Ruby Meyer; husband Kenneth Knorr; son-in-law Rick Straub; grandson Ricky Straub; and great-grand daughter Madison.

Survivors include her daughters Kim Ritter and Karla and husband Ricardo Straub-Marquez; grandsons Seth and Elijah Mills; great-grand daughters Naomi and Noelle Straub-Marquez, as well as all of St. Francis. She leaves behind a sister-in-law; an Aunt and Uncle; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
