Daniel James Donohue of Big Timber, Kansas, passed away on March 13, 2026 at Dundy County Hospital.  Dan was born May 9, 1954 in McCook, NE to parents, Wesley and Wilma Donohue.  Dan was baptized in the Presbyterian Church.  Dan we to Porter country school until the school closed.  He then went to Benkelman.  He graduated in 1973 from Benkelman High School.  On November 24, 1973 Dan married Lois. Dan had met Lois at the Benkelman horse sale.  Dan and Lois raised their two sons, Casey and Scotty on the place that was purchased from Dan's Grandma Donohue. Dan was very proud that his grandkids were the sixth generation on the place.  Dan spent his life as a cowboy raising cattle and horses.  He has built miles of fence.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Patty, parents-in-law, brother-in-law and sister-in-law.  Dan is survived by his wife, Lois; son, Casey and wife Carrie; son, Scotty and wife Grace; six grandkids - Mica, Tel, Cooper, Cashlyn, Levi and Layn; his special companion, Slick; sister, Deb Flemming and husband, Dave; brother, Don and wife Jana; sister-in-law, Susie Quint and husband, Tom.

Dan will be buried on the ranch that was homesteaded in 1883.
