Cassandra Elise Dankenbring-Braswell, age 34, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 24th, 2024.
Cassie was born on January 22nd, 1990 to Victor Dankenbring and Dara Carmichael in St. Francis, Kansas. Cassie was baptized and confirmed at the Peace Lutheran Church.
She attended St. Francis High School and graduated in 2008. During high school Cassie participated in 4-H, played volleyball and was a cheerleader for football, wrestling and basketball. She was also a very talented dancer and had a deep love for music.
She enrolled as a freshman at Kansas State University and cultivated many lifelong relationships. In 2009, she moved to Denver, Colorado and attended Metro State University and later earned her Bachelors Degree in Business at UMKC in Kansas City, Missouri.
While living in Denver and working as a server at Brio Italian Grille, Cassie met the love of her life, Jason Braswell. She and Jason have been together 14 years and on April 13th of this year, they celebrated 5 years of marriage. On November 2nd, 2023, they welcomed their beautiful baby boy, Salem Ray Braswell. Cassie and Jason lived in Kansas City, Missouri for 10 years and this September, moved to St. Francis to build a new life as a family.
Cassie worked in the Finance Department at ChowNow as the Payment Operations Specialist. She loved her job and fostered many friendships. Those whom she worked with stated, "She was absolutely incredible, kind and a very bright light, she will be missed."
Cassie held dear her 3 fur-babies Binx, Juno and her recently passed and most cherished cat, Lola. She enjoyed many activities. Her favorite and most recent were yoga, cooking, going on walks, taking Salem to swimming lessons and spending time with friends and family. In her down time, she spent hours bingeing her favorite tv shows, Gilmore Girls and Friends. Wherever she ventured, Cassie always left a positive, peaceful impact on those around her. Her most recent and proudest achievements were prioritizing her self-improvement and providing a happy, healthy and secure environment for Salem.
Cassie was preceded in death by grandparents, Wayne and Helen Bolen, Vernon and Meta Dankenbring and Uncle David Bolen.
Cassie is survived by her husband, Jason Braswell, son Salem Ray Braswell, parents Victor Dankenbring and Scott and Dara Carmichael, in-laws Janice Rankin (Phillip) and Raymond Braswell (Lynn), sister Jennifer Dankenbring (Mahra) and Tim Miller and brother Kale and Heidi Dankenbring, sister Teresa Lipsey and Eric (Ajna), sister Chelsi Kabureck (Deija, Kaylei, Kye), brother Lucas and Jordan Carmichael (Charles) and many extended family and friends.
